Although we don't have the best flight over, we are excited to be in Australia. We decide to have a few days of 'decompression' at Scarborough beach near Perth and have a lovely time relaxing by the ocean. Three days later, we fly to Melbourne to visit my parents who live there and then rent a car and drive to see my sister in Sydney. We spend a lovely couple of days catching up with some friends and checking out the aquarium, the National Maritime museum and a couple of lovely Thai andJapanese restaurants. A quick flight up to Cairns, a short (beautiful coastal) drive and we arrive in Port Douglas, our home for the next few months.
